What to Do When You Feel Like Quitting Part 2

confidence building empowered living growth mindset overcoming fear self-belief Mar 05, 2025

Okay, so you’re in that tough spot where quitting feels like an option. You know you don’t want to quit, but you also don’t know how to keep going.

Here’s what you can do instead:

1. Shift Your Perspective

Instead of seeing your struggle as a sign to stop, see it as a test of how badly you want it. Hard times don’t mean it’s over—they mean you’re in the middle of your growth.

Example:

Imagine training for a marathon. At mile 18, you hit the infamous “wall.” Your body is exhausted, your mind is telling you to stop, and you’re questioning why you even signed up. But seasoned runners know that if you just push through the wall, something magical happens—you get a second wind. Life works the same way. Push through, and you’ll find new strength.

2. Take One Small Step Forward

When you’re overwhelmed, don’t focus on everything. Just focus on the next small step.

Example:

If you’re struggling in your business, don’t think about everything that’s going wrong. Instead, just do one thing: send one email, make one call, post one piece of content. Small actions create momentum.

3. Remind Yourself Why You Started

Reconnect with your original excitement. What made you start this journey? What did you envision for yourself?

Example:

If you’re feeling stuck in your fitness journey, go back and look at old progress pictures. Remind yourself how far you’ve already come.

4. Surround Yourself with the Right People

You don’t have to do this alone. Find a mentor, a friend, or a community that will remind you of your strength when you forget it.

Example:

Olympic athletes don’t train alone. They have coaches and teammates who push them when they want to stop. Who’s pushing you?

5. Accept That It’s Okay to Rest

Rest is not quitting. You can take a break and come back stronger. The key is to pause, not stop.

Example:

Think of a phone that’s low on battery. You don’t throw it away—you charge it. Give yourself permission to recharge.

Keep Going—Your Future Self is Waiting

The truth is, every successful person you admire has felt like quitting at some point. The only difference is, they didn’t.

So, when you feel like quitting, remember:

  • You are stronger than you think.
  • The best things in life come to those who keep going.
  • Your breakthrough might be closer than you realize.

Take a deep breath, wipe off the doubt, and take the next step. Because your story isn’t over yet.
